Functional Nutritionist in Sydney

Working as a functional nutritionist in Sydney, I focus on how diet and lifestyle can prevent, reduce, and support a wide range of health conditions. My approach is grounded in evidence-based nutrition, helping clients achieve optimal health, balanced energy, and long-term wellbeing.

People often seek nutritional support when they are experiencing:

  • Digestive issues such as bloating, flatulence, reflux, abdominal discomfort, or irregular bowel habits

  • Hormonal imbalances, including insulin resistance, diabetes, thyroid concerns, PCOS, endometriosis, or menopause symptoms

  • A weakened immune system or recurring illness

  • High cholesterol, cardiovascular risks, or other ongoing health concerns

Initial Nutritional consultation 60 min -Online appointment

An Initial Consultation with a nutritionist is a fact-finding session. To gain an overview of your nutritional status and the impact it is having on your health, a nutritionist will assess:
- Your current diet.

-Lifestyle.
You will leave with a wealth of new knowledge on how to manage your health, and recommended dietary and supplement advice specific to your goals. Depending on the nature of your visit, you might be booked in for a follow-up appointment in 3-4 weeks.

My path to becoming a nutritionist

Nutritionist Sydney

After working demanding jobs for ten years, moving between countries, raising a family, and setting up my own PT studio, I realized how our hectic lives and our genes can harm our health. For more than three years, I faced constant exhaustion, burnout, and numerous health problems. Daily pain, memory issues, stomach troubles, and struggling to function became part of my life.I tried seeing doctors and naturopaths for help, but they couldn’t provide relief. So, I decided to become a nutritionist. I spent years studying and applying what I learned to improve my health and manage my symptoms better.

As a Sydney-based nutritionist, I specialize in…

…helping people dealing with long-term health issues, hormone imbalances, digestive problems, and autoimmune diseases. I know how tough it can be to cope with these problems, causing stress and discomfort. But there are ways to make things better through nutrition and supplements.

When I work with clients, I focus on boosting their well-being through better nutrition, addressing nutrient gaps, and making necessary lifestyle changes.

FAQ

I HAVE TRIED SO MANY DIETS IN THE PAST, HOW WILL YOUR SERVICE BE DIFFERENT?

We get this question a lot!

There are a number of reasons why diets in the past have not worked:

  • They are often unbalanced and do not meet your nutritional requirements so you are left feeling hungry, which can lead to over eating later on
  • They may not fit in with your particular lifestyle
  • They often set unrealistic standards and are not sustainable in the long term, despite being effective in the short term
  • They may have required you to avoid certain food groups leaving you with the risk of developing vitamin and mineral deficiencies
  • They often allow you to lose a significant amount of weight in the early stages, which then plateaus off causing you to lose motivation, reverting back to old habits.

Healthy living is a long journey, we will work with you to set realistic and achievable goals and provide you with the support to help you achieve those goals through individual eating and lifestyle plans. We will teach you to understand and read your own body, hunger and satiety cues as well as equip you with crucial skills that allow you to make educated food choices in the long run.

DO I HAVE TO COME IN FOR THE CONSULTATION?

No, we also offer Skype, face time and phone call consultations.

ARE PRESCRIBED SUPPLEMENTS INCLUDED IN THE COST OF NUTRITIONAL CONSULTATION?

No, prescribed supplements are not included in the cost of the consultation.

DO I NEED TO GET A BLOOD TEST DONE BEFORE SEEING A NUTRITIONIST?

You don’t need to do any blood test before seeing a nutritionist if there is a need for any further pathology testing our nutritionist will refer you further to your GP or pathology laboratory. If you do have any recent blood test it would be beneficial if you could bring them with you when you are coming for your nutritional consultation.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM INITIAL NUTRITONAL APPOINTMENT?

The initial consultation is fact finding only. Please bring with you copies of pathology results (if you have these) as well as any other test results you may have. Please also bring with you a list or picture of all medication and supplements you are currently taking. During this appointment, a full and comprehensive health history is taken (there are no irrelevant details), your symptoms are noted (everything from bloating to sore feet) and I’ll finish by asking you this question: “What are you looking to achieve from this session?”.

You will leave with couple dietary modifications and I might prescribe you supplements to take.

I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT, CAN YOU HELP ME?

Yes BUT please be prepared to accept that there might be more to consider than just your weight. What is driving the weight problem? Thyroid, hormones, emotional stuff? I don’t do quick fixes. We need to get to the bottom of all of this so that any changes made are for life. To summarize I don’t want you just to lose weight, I want you to achieve your optimum health and learn how to maintain it for life.

DO I NEED TO ORDER SUPPLEMENTS YOU PRESCRIBED? CANT I JUST BUY SOMETHING AT THE SUPPLEMENT SHOP?

What I have access to is quite frankly incomparable to what they sell in chemists and supermarkets. Therapeutically dosed supplements properly formulated are quite more potent, bioavailable and better grade products that get results.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELATION POLICY?

We have a 24-hour cancellation notice policy. A charge may be incurred if 24-hour notice for cancellations is not provided. If cancellation or failure to attend occurs under special circumstances, consideration will be given and this charge may be waived.
